Products and manufacturers must meet basic ethical and ecological values in order to be sold through the consulting service. As one of the leading resellers of Google products in the EMEA region, the company identifies itself with the manufacturer’s sustainability efforts. Google has been working CO₂-neutrally since 2007 and is focusing on completely CO₂-free production in 2030. The company’s vision is to make optimal use of technologies without using up more resources. Google is continuously optimizing its data centers in order to use energy, water and other materials in a resource-saving manner and to improve the environmental balance. In order to meet its social responsibility, Google promotes ecological standards in the companies and communities of its suppliers and uses data-generating technologies to do the best possible work for research and science.
In the hardware segment, Digital Schooling relies exclusively on products from Acer. Acer is aware of its ecological responsibility and aligns the company holistically with sustainability. For this purpose, Acer has bundled various measures under the Earthion sustainability initiative. Together with employees and suppliers, the supply chain and production are improved from an ecological point of view by using more recycled materials and producing less packaging waste. In addition, Acer has joined the RE100 alliance. All companies in this association are working towards the goal of covering 100 percent of their own energy requirements with renewable energies by 2035.
A commitment out of conviction.
Digital Schooling believes that forests are the most productive terrestrial ecosystem on earth. Due to their function of binding CO₂ and producing oxygen, trees and plants are a key factor influencing the global climate. In order to compensate for deforestation and tree death, Digital Schooling plants about 1000+ trees a year. Assuming that a tree binds around 15 kg of CO2 per year, this commitment compensates for 15 tonnes of CO2.
Integration into everyday work.
In order to achieve ambitious sustainability goals, it is important to lay the foundation in everyday life. In order to meet its own holistic requirements for environmental protection and ecological sustainability, Digital Schooling integrates corresponding values into everyday work. All employees work exclusively in the home office in order to avoid unnecessary trips to an office.
Business trips are reduced to an absolute minimum in order to keep one’s own CO2 emissions as low as possible. Most meetings with customers are conducted virtually. Digital Schooling’s employees take unavoidable routes with public transport or the company’s own bicycles. This not only reduces carbon dioxide emissions, but also integrates employee movement into everyday life.
