The Challenge

Prof. Dr. Hans-Günter Lindner teaches business administration and business informatics at the Schmalenbach Institute. His research results from user modeling and human images in digitization should be evaluated with modern tools. The goal includes the improvement of IT support and the identification of student-adapted services at TH Cologne.

The Solution

First, values and the satisfaction of the stakeholders were determined with surveys and student models with Customer Journeys and Fuzzy Cognitive Maps were derived. Numerous Google Cloud tools were used: Natural Language Processing, Sentiment Analysis, Vertex AI, Automl and Sentiment analysis. The existing examples were manually supplemented for the training of the AI Tools due to the GDPR.

The Results

Numerous videos and tutorials make it easier to incorporate into the complex Google Cloud platform. The amount of tools offers a wide range of options that address the aspect of the natural language processing. Hybrid methods of AI such as Fuzzy Cognitive Maps could not be implemented with the tools. With the help of a chatbot in the dialogue, a demonstrator was developed.

The Highlight

The Google Cloud Platform is a complex environment that has a large range of application. The focus is on natural language processing. A highlight is dialogue flow, which is complex, but made it possible for a quick and effective solution. The learning success for the students was excellent.
